Aristocraft Heavyweight Passenger cars:
I recently acquired 15 Union Pacific Heavyweight Passenger cars. Eleven total will be pulled by the Challenger (2 RPO, 2 Diner, 2 Sleeper, 1 Combine, 3 Coaches and 1 Observation car) and the other 4 (3 Coaches and 1 Observation car) will be pulled by another engine as a commuter train. Body mounted Kadee couplers have been installed to allow very close coupling of the cars. Info on modifications to the Heavyweights can be found on the Modifications page.

Additional storage shelving:
With G scale engines and cars you run out of shelf room quickly, which is why this new 5 level storage shelf was necessary.

MTH GS-4 Daylight: Repaint
Long term the engine and cars will be repainted, but the first step was to paint the smokebox and firebox black (used Floquil 'Engine Black') Cab ladders and cab deflector window frames have also been painted black (Tamiya Acrylic semi-gloss black).

The BIG order:
Over a years worth of planning and saving came down to today when UPS delivered most the order for first major layout expansion.
16 Tubes of 8ft Stainless Steel flex track (768ft), 4 - Boxes of 20' curves, 883 tie sections, a second MTH TIU, a few lighted track bumpers and 4 - 19.5 degree cross-overs.

MTH Union Pacific Big Boy #4004 (4-8-8-4)
Two of these engines were delivered on 07/05/06. The ultimate in steam locomotive design, this model will bring serious power to any layout. One more of these monsters is on pre-order. The trio will be slated to pull a 60 Bachmann coal hopper train. (Two at the head end and one as pusher.)
